Saturday

Hey there! Kind of a moderately busy Saturday. We've been cleaning the house as my brother and law & family are coming out from OK tomorrow. They are moving here and will be staying at our house until they move into their rental (I think, hubby is a little vague on the details). We're getting some long overdue cleaning done though. It's nice.

I started a Spark Page yesterday (Shannon in AZ). I decided to do that so that I can track my daily dietary intake and exercise. So far, I really like it. I really had no idea of the actual calories I was taking it but I knew it was under 1,800. I think I was at 1,500 ish yesterday. It shows I'm supposed to be between 12-16K. I can do that!!

When I added my exercise, for just one day, I had almost met my requirements for the week! LOL! Guess I'm doing OK in the exercise department. I know I'm feeling good about it and myself. I know I'm in MUCH better shape than when I started this in mid-May. Actually, I think I'm in the best shape of my life! I know I can still get much better though and will continue to work on doing so.

I was hoping to go to "Strictly Strengthening" this morning at 11AM. I was ready to go out the door, practically, and my oldest daughter said "Mom, that class is on Sunday's". LOL! I'm glad she caught me before I left. I guess today will just be a 'regular gym day' or a neighborhood walk day and I'll save the class for Sunday.

I have to run! Gotta drink some more water and get moving.
Have a great day!
Shannon

I use Spark People too and really love it (Elizabeth133). I love the Best of Spark Daily and Exercise Tip of the Day e-mails especially. It's a nice little bost in my inbox each morning to get me thinking about my health goals.

Congrats on the BMI...45.3 to 39.8 is FANTASTIC!

Keep up the great work!

Hi Shannon
My name is Chari and I saw some of your posts over at real age. Noticed you started a blog and wanted to come see. You are doing wonderful! I got some inspiration from you and Rich.
If you don't mind I would like to join you in this journey. I started a blog Friday, after seeing yours. When you joined Park people, you just enter foods and it's in their data base?
I peeked at Elizabeth's today.
Trying to see wnat other people have blogs following YOAD.

Here's to gettin' fit!

Hi Chari!

I'm not Shannon, but I think I can answer your question about Spark People. :-)

You can use the site to track calories and nutrition-you just search for what you ate or if you eat something you can't find, you can enter the calories manually. You can also use it to track exercise (calories burned), weight, measurements, goals, and things like that. For example, if you want to track measurements, you just enter whatever measurements you want and once you've entered them a couple times, you can see graphs and progress charts. It's GREAT for seeing how far you've come when you need an extra kick of motivation! (And don't we all sometimes...lol)

Yep! Elizabeth covered the Spark People stuff. I'm "ShannoninAZ" over there. It's been a great tool. I am tracking my exercise and calories every day. It's funny because on a few of the days I've found that I'm eating far BELOW what I should be to lose the weight. It's made me very aware of my intake. I think that will continue to help me on my journey. Thanks for joining me Chari! I'm here to help!
Hugs,
Shannon
