Before posting my weekly weight and measurements from yesterday, I had to post about the Super Bowl. It was AMAZING!!! We had so much fun! The buzz in the stadium was so fun. You could just feel the energy vibe in there!! (For those that don't know, our GS troop's parents have been volunteering to staff a concession stand at the Cardinals Stadium all year. We worked all the Cardinals games, the Fiesta Bowl and the Super Bowl). I had my DH take a pic of me when I got home. That's me up there ^^^ in my "uniform". It's not a beauty shot by any means, as I'd been on my feet for 18 hours but I wanted a picture anyway. ;-)
It was quite star studded too! It was pretty strange serving ice cream and soda to folks like Alice Cooper, Pam Anderson and John Travolta! LOL! Heck, even the luxury boxes couldn't fit the number of celebs that were there in them. We saw even more folks just walking around-Payton Manning, Tiki Barber, The Burger King King (LOL---that was funny!!) and lots of players families. None of us were very star struck but it was fun seeing them. :-)
The game itself was AMAZING too! We were too busy to watch much of it but I watched it yesterday via TiVo. I got to see most of the last 3 minutes live but didn't get to see the lead up to it. What a GAME!! I don't recall a Super Bowl being that close or that good in AGES!! It was great to see an actual game of it vs. a blow out. Typically the NFC/AFC championship games are more exciting than the Super Bowl, but not this year!
I thought the halftime show was good too. Initially I thought Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were a terrible choice, but I think they did a great job!! He was pretty cool to have in town during the week too. He was a true gentleman and far from the typical superstar behavior (even though he's a seasoned entertainment veteran).
I must say that I think AZ did an awesome job this past week! What a terrific host state we turned out to be! Lots of work but even more fun! It definitely was a memorable week.
I heard that we're going to try and vy for another game in 4 years. That sounds great! Heck, we'd be a well oiled machine by then!
Our troop made a good amount of money working the game (tips and such) and it will really help us toward our goal (a 10 day trip to London, Paris & Barcelona this summer). We didn't make a ton but we made about double of our usual amount. We are about 1/3 to 1/2 to the total money we need so far for the trip and we haven't even started seeing the benefits of the cookie sale yet (it just started). Keep your fingers crossed and we WILL get there! ;-)
Need any cookies?? LOL! JK!
Hugs from AZ,
Shannon
