Tuesday--Happy & Focused

Hi!
Well here we are, it's Tuesday. ;-)
It's been a really nice day. The weather in Phoenix is beautiful! It was in the 70's this morning when I took the girls to school. I had the windows down and it was lovely. I decided to go to the gym this morning and take a 50/50 class (strengthening and cardio). It was a great class. The instructor was a kickboxing teacher---whew! She kicked my butt! It was great! I'll definitely go to that again. It's an hour long class and we're constantly moving.

Sunday-We did the Cardinal's Concession stand gig. We didn't make near as much as we were hoping but had a good time. The Cards even won the game!! WOO HOO! They kicked a field goal with 1 second left on the clock to beat the Seahawks. I sure enjoy the parents of the girls in our troop. They are a fun group! (No gym today--10 hours on our feet at the concession stand. It was my day of "rest". LOL!)

Saturday-Our GS troop volunteered for Relay for Life. We made luminarias and surrounded the walking track with them. It was wonderful. Once the sun went down, we lit them all. They were glowing and beautiful. What an amazing event. I/we were touched and honored to be a part of it. (No worries, I went to the gym that morning prior to the event. I did 40 minutes on the Cybex and burned around 650 calories).

I'm still inputting my daily dietary intake and exercise on Spark People. I LOVE that site! It's been an amazing tool. It's one of the keys to my success, thus far, I have no doubt! It really keeps me on task, especially on the days when I'm actually below on calories. It helps me to add another piece of fruit or a salad onto my day, before it's too late.

My GS troop decided upon their trip destination last night. Now we'll be in a flurry to raise funds for the next 8 or so months. Between that and my lifestyle focus, I will be a busy bee! I sure hope we can do it! I'd love to take these girls to Europe. They will learn and grow SO much! I would have LOVED to have the opportunity to be a global citizen in high school. Who knows---maybe even one of them will find a new life path because of it? Hmmmm...that'd be so great!

I was looking at the photo I posted a few minutes ago. I can't believe the difference from my August photo (see my sparkpeople site for both photos). My face is SO much thinner! You can see my eyes SO much better! My double chin is smaller and you can actually SEE my neck. That's so cool! I wonder what my photo will look like in another 6-8 weeks. I'll be sure to post it...so we can both check it out. :-)

I better run, for now. I have to do some more things at work, prior to going home. Thanks for reading. Have a great day! NEVER give up, NEVER surrender! YOU CAN DO THIS and YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!
Hugs from AZ,
Shannon
